Everyone deserves a home where they feel safe and supported.   ​For the fourth year in a row, we're proud to be partnering with Bridge It — a Melbourne charity that provides homes, community and support programs to young women and gender-diverse people aged 16 to 21 experiencing homelessness. ​ Our founder Dani recently sat down with Carla and Brea from the Bridge It team to discuss how their Cocoon residence and program is transforming young people's lives. “Homelessness for young people really differs from adults because they don't have those life skills yet to self-advocate and communicate. It's such a pivotal time in their life to come to Bridge It and not only receive a house, but also a home, and be able to build independent living skills. We take residents in and build their capacity.”​ - Brea

“When one of our residents came to us, she had already been in about 30 different foster care homes. She had this really big dream to become a mechanic. We were able to work with one of our business partners to get her an apprenticeship. Bridge It's really special because we want to tap into what the individual's dream is. Our focus on wellness is also quite different. The Cocoon is incredibly beautiful, how it looks, how it smells, how it feels.”​ - Carla
