We'll be donating 20% of every sale directly back to Bridge It's housing program which provides a safe home to young women at risk of homelessness.

Inspired by Bridge It's colours, this Bobbi Boot comes in a Jade Green colourway with pops of Coral Red. It also features a butterfly motif that symbolises the transformation and hope experienced at the Cocoon.

The Cocoon: So Much More Than A Roof

In Australia, at least 122,000 people experience homelessness any given night, with young people aged 12-24 making up 24% of this.

Bridge It provides homes, community and support programs to young women leaving residential or foster care. When unsupported, the transition out of residential or foster care can be a significant pathway to homelessness for young people.

The Cocoon program was created to bridge this critical gap by providing young women a place to stay, recover, develop life skills, and prepare for long-term housing.

A Boot That Transforms Lives

In partnership with local Melbourne charity Bridge It, we've created a limited edition Bobbi Boot. This boot will raise funds to help end homelessness for young women.

To mark the launch, our founder Dani recently hosted a panel conversation at our office to discuss the importance of Bridge It's work. The panel featured Carla, the CEO and founder of Bridge It; Jane, the founder and director of Igniting Change; and two remarkable and courageous women, Brea and Sarah, who shared their powerful stories with us. Here's what we learned…

Bridge It Is Needed Now More Than Ever

There's an escalating homelessness crisis in Victoria and the rest of Australia, with women accounting for 80% of this increase over the past few years and young people are disproportionately at risk.

"Young women experiencing homelessness have either experienced or are at risk of experiencing sexual violence. They need very gender-specific accommodation and support, so that's what we set out to create when launched our Cocoon program two years ago." - Carla

One of the most important things Carla and her team give their residents is a community - taking a "we won't give up on you" approach, much more like a family would rather than just a typical service.

"I had no backup, you know, no safety net, like the majority of society does. I couldn't fall back and go home to my parents if things got rough. That's how people end up in homelessness. Bridge It is that safety net. They believe in young people and make them believe in themselves…It's really powerful and transformative." - Sarah
