That is very cute and silly - but yes, I suppose it would work, as long as the hands don't catch on the knitted surface. Be a bugger to keep somewhat clean though - you'd catch a lot of dust!
Yeah, they DO look like *really* absorbent tampons! LOL!

Yep, tampon counterweights is what they are, although I did think of those sweet little bake at home rolls one can buy in the supermarket.
