Unwell. Sore throat, ears and no voice. Not at work yesterday and will only go in today for a late afternoon meeting because no one else can do it.I anticipated couch time with the chicken soup for the eyes that you all kindly recommended, but found myself making soup instead. We have Smashing Pumpkin on the left and Chunky Veg & Ham on the right.
Why "smashing" and "chunky"? Because the blasted stab blender died. Anyone recommend a good replacement?

I have a Braun and I love, love, love it.
I have a Kenwood stabbie that I've had for 9 years. Hardy and heavy and very good for soups! From memory it has quite high watts, which I why I put in on the bridal registry in the first place ;-)

High wattage is a definite must. I went with the Bruan professional, which not only has requisite wattage but has ability to crush ice. Essential for one's summer margheritas.
You can't beat the Bamix. I bought mine when Boyo was starting on solid foods, so it's about nine years old, and it has flogged up everthing from baby food through soups to sausage mince, and never given me a jot of trouble.

s US citizen I don't recognize the term "stabbie" or the name brands others have mentioned. But since moving to a small condo (flat?) and needing to downsize my kitchen equipment, I got a Waring hand held blender. One of those things that is like a wand you immerse into a pitcher or soup pot. I love it.
