It must be love, love, love...

The second worst thing in the world is getting a parcel card in your letter box and having 14 hours until you can pick up the parcel from The Wool Shack that contains 6 balls of Kid Silk Haze "Grace" and a set of Addi turbo bamboo dpns with lemon gummi bear point protectors.

The worst thing is the world is picking up the parcel from The Wool Shack that contains 6 balls of Kid Silk Haze "Grace" and a set of Addi bamboo dpns with lemon gummi bear point protectors and having to work ALL day, then collect dog, cook dinner for family, tidy up and rescue the handwash from the deluge outside (I don't care if we've been in drought for 7 years, it doesn't have to pour with rain the day I do all my woollen garments handwash to put them away for the summer!) before you can use them.

I've cast on another Butch Cap (adding some extra stitches) and I am in love with my Addi bamboo dpns with lemon gummi bear point protectors. I want to marry them. They are smooth and balanced and soft to the touch while being strong and useful, AND they haven't noticed that the washing is sitting on the couch waiting to be folded and put away, or if they have they are far too polite to say anything. Yep, perfect relationship material!

I think we need to consider finding a very broad-minded celebrant... ;)

Your bamboo dpns sound perfectly well behaved - do they all have names yet? Or does one give ONE name to all the needles in a set? Hello George. Oh there you are, George! Your turn now, George. Ooooh, I love you George :)

Heh. No we can't have George - maybe Bryan. (Ferry, not Brown in case you were wondering)

Are the bamboo needles that good?,blaspemy sorry but I haven't seen any in my local WS,so haven't had a chance to 'look' at any!!!!
I prefer the dreaded alloy sets for sock knitting as many of my needles end up bent, though have moved to casein to keep my fingers happy( regular glucosmine)......Oh can you post a piccy of Hat please, sounds great, have to do a pink one for winter to keep ears warm at work!!!!

AND I've worked out that for a few measly dollars, I can have a whole harem of Bryans :)

Yes, they are that good. I've got Mum's 2mm metal dpns for socks, mostly because I haven't been able to get bamboo, but I'll take bamboo over metal anytime. Will give the casein a try, but they don't sell them here.

Will post a pic as soon as I can borrow a camera, download etc...

Hello! the Pearl needles by Patons I think are also casein needles according to the Swallow site I checked out ages ago but I'm not sure about sets though!( those cream plastic types are promoted heavily by my LW shop, but I am thinking of trying the bamboo as I can use them (2.75) with the Opal wool!
I usually buy them,(Casein), at Kmart a pair at a time while buying kids socks etc but Bendigo Woollen Mills also have the Swallow Casien needles!

Looking forward to photo! The little kids at school think Im the Garden MAN must knit pink Hat(usually have my Colli Akubra on!!!!)..............

the needles are super fab - lemon gummi bear also cute. Waiting in anticipation is both the best and the worst.

Also just have to stick my nose into discussion about needles - casein are great but less than 3.5mm I find them a bit too flexible and prefer bamboo without question - particularly dpns for socks.

That's good to know about the littler caseins - thanks Susan.

Had a quick peak at the Ozeyarn site today - they have little Addi dpns and also down to 1.5mm circs. I can feel an order coming on.

I think I might have a look at Ozyyarn too,I also prefer the metal dpns (small sizes), as the only other ones I have tried are the cream plastic ones and I find them a bit too flexable, but I am curious about the bamboo ones...........

I've just ordered my bamboo DPNs from Ozeyarn - 2.00 and 3.5mm - sigh... now I cam going to hang around my mail box until they arrive... !

Good on you. I orderd 4mm and 4.5mm Clover bamboos from the WoolShack (needed the 20cm length). Even paid $2 extra in postage to receive them within 2 days, rather than 7 or more.
