OMG, OMG, OMG (literally)

I was reading Yarn Harlot the other day and looking at her most recent travelling sock.

"That looks like Spidey's Socksual Healing Cancer Cure sock", I thought. "Nah", my thoughts replied, "couldn't be the same" and tried to dismiss it from my mind.

The thought kept bugging me, though - pesky thought. Reading a more recent post the Harlot mentioned what the yarn was - Opal sock yarn #3207. I still have the band from Socksual Healing so being the obsessive that I am, I checked.

OMG, OMG, OMG it's the same - does this explain the now legendary healing powers of Spidey's socks? Is this the Yarn Harlot's first recorded miracle worked through her acolyte the Happy Spider? Should we notify the Vatican that we have a new Saint in the making? St Steph - patron saint of sock knitters.

On a different topic - happy birthday to any horses reading.

while i agree that there is something eerily powerful about this coincidence, i will say that the pattern of the socksual healing socks, ie a beautiful lightweight cable rib, is probably the clincher. i can say this because ms spider let me try it on, just to show me how great socks were before starting my own (yes im sure she washed it before she gave it to its new owner) and it was the nicest thing i ever felt and made my foot very warm and fuzzy. obviously this was the healing energy which i failed to recognise at the time, although i did tell spider i didnt want to take it off!

Shall we leave libations of alpaca and mohair on her, um, doorstep? Does she have a 'hairlo'?

Now we just need to figure out how to get to Canada!

I wonder if its a "Hundredth Monkey" thing and if we all knit enough socks all around the world, one day we will all be knitting the same sock and we will all take a mighty step forward in our evolution. The next great step...to be taken by knitters. What power we could have!
Cheers Gillian
