Body art meets the needle arts?

One of the young blokes at work has a flesh tunnel like this one.

It's kind of cute and very decorative. His tunnel keeper (no idea if that is the right word) is a gorgeous turquoise colour.

It got me thinking, though. Could I have a series of these in appropriate sizes and have a permanent needle guage? I'd need both ears, and maybe have to skip a couple of the less common sizes, but I reckon it could be done.

bahahah! I love it.

I dare you :) You'll be the best prepared knitter on the block.

Heh heh heh - how would you make sure the holes stayed a constant size? Metal inserts?

You forgot bottom lip, for the larger sizes... Oh, hang on - that's usually a plate. Maybe you could have a magnetic plate to keep stich markers and stuff handy?

All I can say is you're all weird (and therefore totally wonderful).

You'd certainly be in demand at stitch n bitch, and op-shopping expeditions.

I love "flesh tunnel", is that the technical term?

From my research "flesh tunnel" appears to be the technical term. I will admit to not spending a huge amount of time on the body art sites, though.

There are many things in this life that I don't understand and flesh tunnels are one of them. However considering that I am constantly losing my needle gauge.....a permanent needle gauge would be useful.
