My heart beat so that I can hardly speak

You know how the first question you are asked when you make a mobile phone call is "Where are you?"?

On Saturday I got to give the answer - "I'm in heaven".

Wool shop - everything 50% off (and the original prices were 2 years old).

Given the circumstances, I was remarkably restrained.

2 balls Patonyle in a really dark khaki/grey colour. Perfect for boy socks.

6 balls of a heathery purple Patonyle - 2 balls for Mum socks, 2 balls for me socks, 2 balls because it was half price Patonyle and they were the last two in the shop.

5 balls of Twilley Freedom Wool in my favourite purple/green colourway. I have been known to ask strangers (well a knitter I'd only just met) for her scraps of this wool - Hi Katt!.

8 balls of Naturally Sensation 70% merino, 30% angora

Yes it was all purple and green and yes, I did leave wool in the shop because that is what restrained shoppers who are able to identify between wants, needs and out-and-out wool lust do. See, personal growth. *sob*

Umm...were you going to share the name of this heaven? Which wool shop?! Or is that classified so you can go back and get more?

Sorry all - it was Braidwood and it was for the day only. They don't actually operate as a shop anymore, just open up during the Airing of the Quilts, apparently. They also didn't take any form of plastic - debit or credit, so I was limited to the cash in my wallet.

What a nice targeted haul - very well done on the restraint Taph. I think I need to spend some time sitting at your feet and learning some of it!

Gor-juss, especially the Sensation. I'm a sucker for anything soft and fuzzy.

And thanks so much for the fabric. Can't wait to shake that all about.

What a nice constrained haul. It looks like enough to keep you busy for a while. It's nice to find some sock yarn in boy colors once in a while.

I'm so proud of you! You showed more restraint than I could have done at a 50% off sale. I'd have filled the back of the car with yarn. I wouldn't have felt the shame of it until after I got it all home and stashed away!!!

Maybe I was foreseeing your future when I had that dream??? What a fantastic haul - you did so well!

50% off is my kind of pricing! We had a shop in Hollywood that was closing down and selling off inventory at 50 to 75% off and I bought more yarn... beautiful stuff, too... now I need to definitely knit down my stash!

Hi I know Patonyle is discontinued now but i was wondering if you could tell me the colour number for the Patonyle heather purple colour you got. We have never had that shade in NZ. All the best, Zoe.
